Affordable Home Cinema

Brief…

We were contacted by Mr and Mrs Walker, They explained that they were upgrading to Sky Q and needing some help improving their WiFi signal throughout their home and having their games room redecorated with new custom made units and wanting to turn it into more of a home cinema. all on a budget of course.

Solution…

Once visiting the property, we learned that the house was a converted farm house and barn, which meant that the property was quite long. Luckily for us, we noticed that there were unused network cables running throughout the house and back into a cupboard near the cinema room. This was great, as we were able fit a 6U equipment rack, a 24-port patch panel and installed a 16-port Ubiquiti PoE switch; giving us the ability to distribute network to all TV points for SkyQ and Ubiquiti Access Points.

We knew the customer was on a budget for the cinema room, so instead of getting an AV receiver and chasing cables into their walls, we settled for an easier, wireless option of Sonos. This cut down on costs for both labour, and extra equipment.

We installed a Sonos Playbar, two “Sonos One” SL’s, (for our rear speakers) and a Sonos Sub. We also fitted a brand new Samsung 82″ 4k Smart TV, which sat magically in the center of the new units.

This was a fairly quick project for us, even with the troubleshooting of the network cables, and one we enjoyed.
